I am an expressionism oil painter and am also an art education major at De Anza College. I have been exhibiting under the name Joe Barajas in both solo and group shows in Bay Area venues and galleries since 2005. I mostly show in San Jose, Ca. venues, but have also shown work in Livermore, San Francisco, and Cupertino. I am first and foremost an expressionist oil painter though I am also skilled in portraiture work. I am also an illustrator, specializing in sketch mediums such as ink, charcoal, graphite, and watercolors. I have been an active artist since about the age of five and have experience using a wide array of artistic mediums. I plan to transfer to a four-year university to pursue a degree in Art Education and become an art teacher at either the high school level or junior college level where I feel I can do the most good. I currently enjoy teaching art to young children for Hidden Talent Art Studios and I hope to continue to teach art in some form or another for the rest of my life.
